Tarryall Haven is a hidden jewel located in the Tarryall Valley that borders Pike National Forest! It is perfectly situated atop a knoll and sheltered by tall pines to provide a secluded and peaceful setting. Orientation was planned to maximize sun exposure in winter months and minimize it in summer. The oversized covered deck overlooks pastured meadows and National Forest Lands to offer long distance views of never to be disturbed mountain scenery. Completed in 2016, this lovingly maintained home shows like new. Low maintenance & high durability features can be found throughout – Belgium vinyl flooring, custom tile, rock and woodwork, recessed lighting, pocket and sliding barn doors, granite counters, high-end appliances and woodstove. Two bedrooms with adjoining baths, a sizable kitchen-dining-great room, office (or 3rd BR) and half-bath make up the main level finished space. The unfinished lower level has potential for an additional bedroom, bath, kitchen/wet bar and living area. Large windows showcase the gorgeous Colorado outdoors. The property is fenced, cross-fenced, and gated. It provides direct access into thousands of acres of federal lands for your favorite outdoor activities. Wildlife is plentiful - elk, deer, bear, mountain lion, bobcat, wild turkey, bald and golden eagles have all been spotted. And, forty varieties of birds have been cataloged from the back deck. The pole barn has electric, water, space for (3) 12’x12’ stalls, tack room and hay storage. A center concrete pad and 9’W x 10’H doors (each side) accommodate an RV or delivery of hay/feed. Located 5 miles from Lake George, drive along paved roads through the stunning beauty of the Tarryall Valley & Lost Creek Wilderness - top destinations for fly-fishers, hikers and equestrian enthusiasts. Nearby Tarryall and Elevenmile Reservoirs offer boating, fishing and camping. Ski resorts and airports are within 1-1.5 hours. Tarryall Haven offers a whole lot of EVERYTHING!

About Tarryall Creek
Geography: Tarryall Creek originates in Park (Mountain) Range and is approximately 68.5 miles long. Tarryall Creek is like a river and runs from Mount Silverheels into the South Platte River. Numerous streams contribute to its waters. About 20 miles from its origin point, Tarryall Creek flows into Tarryall Reservoir. The creek then splits in two. Upstream, the Tarryall moves through open grazing land while downstream, it courses through a tree covered ravine of red hued granite walls. The ravine has several meadows and plentiful vegetation along the Tarryall. South of the Tarryall runs primarily in the Pike National Forest where access is more difficult. To find trails you may utilize to access these more obscure parts of the Tarryall, take Forest Road 210. Keep in mind that this road is very rough, requiring a 4x4 or ATV. Upon reaching the end of the road, an additional 2-3 miles of hiking are required in order to reach the water. The last few miles of the Tarryall are protected and designated Wild Trout Waters.
Fishing Opportunities: Access is limited for the majority of the river, but there are a small number of public access points at and upstream from the reservoir. These include part of Tarryall Reservoir State Wildlife area, South Park Fly Fishers, and via the Rocky Mountain Angling Club. Additional public access points are located at the Ute Creek Trailhead, Twin Eagle’s picnic area/campground, and Spruce Campground.
Tarryall Reservoir itself is an excellent location for fishing for trout and pike. Camping is available in several locations around the reservoir. Almost the entire shoreline is accessible by walking and boats are permitted on the water. The northern shore allows fishing in the reservoir and the upstream Tarryall inlet above the reservoir. Downstream at the tailwaters, you can fish below the dam, from the shore, and at natural pools.
History: During the 1859 Colorado Gold Rush early miners discovered small gold nuggets in the creek. They gave the location the name Tarryall. Miners who came to Tarryall in later years were jealous of the fortunes the initial miners had acquired and nicknamed the area “Grab-all”. Thousands of prospectors from the Ute and Kenosha Pass were attracted to the Tarryall and South Park locations. Tarryall and Hamilton were founded along the Tarryall Creek during this time. They are now ghost towns. No other towns exist along the upper creek.
Trivia: For film buffs, part of the 1955 movie The Looters was filmed at Tarryall Creek. The movie starred CBS series The Texan’s Rory Calhoun and actress Julie Adams.
